Catch past Channel 8 dramas/local movies on PPTV!
Good news freedom VPN users! You can watch past channel 8 dramas on PPTV! Simply search “Singapore” on the search bar and you can find most of our past channel 8 hit dramas on the list!
Good old dramas and movies aside, Botanic Gardens is also screening “It’s a Great Great World” on the 7th August, 8 – 10PM!
Directed by Kevin Tong, “It’s a Great Great World” is set in the Great World Amusement Park in the 1900s. Also known locally as, “Dua Seh Gai”, the Great World Amusement Park is one of the three “worlds” in Singapore, along with New World and Gay World!
The film revolves around the history of Great World Amusement Park, the legendary amusement park of Singapore. It is an interesting film to catch, because you get to experience how life in Singapore used to be like in the mid 1900s! Do you know? Great World Amusement Park used to be the top dating place in Singapore? It was the USS of that time!
Bask in nolstagia with our NDP theme songs!
I’m sure most of you have heard this year’s NDP theme song!
Watching this video reminds me of the times when I was still a primary school kid, we would always have National Day celebration in school, and we are always required to sing the National Day song. It was pretty awkward because the hall will be playing the music, and there will be a teacher jumping around trying to hype up the atmosphere while the students sings along hahahaha!
Times have changed, style of music had changed too. Here are some of my favorites over the years!
We will Get There
We even had a dance for this! Hahahahahahhaha
Who else remembers 夢飛船？!
I have my entire weekend slotted up! I can’t wait to take a walk down the memory lane with the celebration of our Nation’s 50th Birthday! Makes me feel really old to actually realize how much things have changed over the past 20+ years. To be honest, I really miss the times where Snow City and Science Centre was one of our main school excursion venues!
Not forgetting the on-going ViewQwest SG50 promotion: From now till 9th August, sign up for our 1Gbps/2Gbps fibernet plans, you get to bring home a set of Sonos speakers from $65/month onwards! More information can be found here, :D
I will be at the Botanic Gardens tomorrow to catch the screening of “It’s a Great Great World”. See you there, and have a happy weekend! :D
